Stay at Le Thillot - Le Ménil - Hautes Vosges
The Vosges, a true encounter with nature
A major centre for green tourism, Le Ménil is a mountain village with character, surrounded by peaks (including Haut du Rouge, 1108m) offering superb views.
In summer and winter alike, Le Ménil and the surrounding area offers a wealth of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, hikers and cyclists... But also for heritage enthusiasts. From Le Ménil, just 5 minutes away, you can visit the former copper mines of the Dukes of Lorraine at the Hautes-Mynes site, as well as the Etang de Chaume, a bucolic spot that will delight fishing enthusiasts.
For 300 years, the Hautes Vosges has been a land of textiles. You can trace the history of the industry at the Textile Museum in Ventron and visit one of the many factories in the region to learn about the different stages of production.
Just 45 minutes from our hotel, in Gérardmer, the largest lake in the Vosges, covering 115 hectares, offers a wide range of water sports activities in season, as well as a fully equipped beach. From there, you can head off to the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park, one of the largest in France, with its 3,000km² of balloons, pastures, mountains, peat bogs and lakes... The area boasts unspoilt natural beauty spots such as the Grande Crête and the Plateau des Mille Étangs in Haute-Saône, as well as numerous historic monuments, remarkable villages and themed routes such as the superb Route des Crêtes, the Alsace Wine Route and the Cheese Route, as well as renowned spas including Plombière-les-Bains and Luxeuil-les-Bains.
The Hautes Vosges will delight nature lovers with its magnificent lakes (Lac Blanc, Lac de Lispach, Lac des Corbeaux, etc.), hiking trails, mountain scenery and ski resorts (La Bresse, Ventron, Gérardmer, etc.), as well as history and heritage enthusiasts with Epinal and its Place des Vosges, basilica and château, or Remiremont, with its church and abbey palace...
We'll be delighted to advise you on your choice.
